More than 700 people signed the petition that led to this review - and over 2,000 people have already visited the One Windlesham web site to learn more about the case for creating a new Parish Council for the whole village of Windlesham.
Of the 507 letters received from Windlesham, 481 people wrote in support of a totally independent Parish Council for Windlesham, although many expressed concerns that this improved autonomy and localism should be achieved without the creation of additional costs and overheads.
The Borough Council subsequently agreed to continue with the next stage of the review by the formation of a working party to include representatives from the various residents' groups council officers and all affected Parish and Borough councillors.

This group has worked incredibly well and has quickly identified some ideas and proposals that are not only good for Windlesham, but they are also good for Bagshot and Lightwater as well.
The proposals from this working party were debated at the Surrey Heath Borough Council meeting on 22nd July 2020. The Council voted to support the proposals and to continue down the path towards their implementation.
